Michaele Dietzel

Michaele is a PhD student at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU) advised by Dr. Jazlynn Hall. She has a B.S. in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Barbara (2022). Prior to CU, Michaele worked as a field technician in Dr. Leander Anderegg's LEAF Lab at UC Santa Barbara, where she studied the impacts of burn severity in Southern California forests and established drought vulnerability metrics for different tree species. Michaele’s research interests are broadly related to wildfire disturbance and forest recovery. In her free time, she can be found backpacking, skiing, or asking someone if she can pet their dog.
