Madison is a PhD candidate advised by Dr. Brian Harvey at the University of Washington studying forest and fire ecology. Her current research combines field and remote sensing techniques to characterize and map different types of stand-replacing fire across the western U.S.

Madison has a B.S. in forestry and geology from Northland College (2018) and a M.S. in environmental science from the University of Washington (2022). Madison’s research interests are broadly related to landscape, disturbance, and forest ecology in the context of climate change and land management. During her free time, Madison enjoys film photography, playing guitar, caring for her house plants, and biking.
