Leah K. Clayton

Leah is a PhD student in the Remote Sensing Ecohydrology Group at Stanford University, advised by Dr. Alexandra Konings. Her current work focuses on the relationship between live fuel moisture content and fire properties. Prior to starting her PhD, she worked at a non-profit to use biomass from fuel reduction treatments for durable carbon removal and storage in the western United States. Leah also has experience studying post-fire trajectories and permafrost dynamics in the Arctic as a part of the NASA Arctic-Boreal Vulnerability Experiment. She received a BS in Earth & Planetary Sciences from Yale University, with certificates in Climate Science & Solutions and Energy Studies. Originally from the mountains of Colorado, she loves to spend time running, hiking, cycling, and painting outdoors.
