Kira Pfoch

Kira Pfoch is a PhD Student in the Department of Forest and Wildlife Ecology at University of Wisconsin-Madison. Kira focuses on mapping the growth of the wildland–urban interface (WUI) across global Mediterranean ecosystems using Landsat-based land cover fractions and assessing the underlying causes of WUI expansion. She is particularly interested in how WUI growth has influenced wildfire activity and how these changes interact with shifts in ecosystem vegetation.
